SPC Vinyl Floor Installation

Golden Rules

1. Acclimate your flooring for at least 48 hours in the room where it will be installed, maintaining a temperature between 18-30°C (64-86°F).
2. Ensure your subfloor is clean, dry, and level.
3. Leave an 8mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the room and any fixed objects.
4. For rooms larger than 13m x 13m, use expansion profiles.

Preparation

• Remove existing flooring and ensure the subfloor is suitable.
• Check moisture levels in the subfloor (cement < 2.5% CM, anhydrite < 0.5% CM).
• Level any unevenness greater than 1mm over 20cm.
• For installations over wooden subfloors, ensure proper ventilation and moisture content below 10%.

Installation

1. Plan your layout, ensuring end joints are staggered by at least 30cm.
2. Begin installation from the right corner, working left.
3. Use the Uniclic® system to join planks, either by angling or tapping.
4. Continue row by row, checking for height differences and gaps.
5. Use spacers to maintain the expansion gap.

Finishing

• Install skirting boards against the wall, not the floor.
• For doorways, undercut the frame and slide planks underneath.
• Use appropriate techniques for installing around pipes and radiators.
• For wet areas, use Vast American Aqua sealant and foamstrip to waterproof perimeters.

Maintenance

• Clean with a damp mop and Vast American Cleaner.
• Use furniture protectors and soft-wheeled chairs to prevent damage.
• Maintain indoor temperatures above 5°C (41°F), preferably between 18-30°C (64-86°F).
